After years of parent advocacy, Arlington Public Schools in Arlington, Virginia is moving to a structured literacy approach. Structured literacy is an evidence-based approach that better supports students with dyslexia. In this video, APS staff explain their vision and plans for reading and writing instruction. Some of the resources APS is using include: Lexia, Step Up to Writing, Orton-Gillingham, and phonemic awareness and rapid naming screenings.
