Question: My child’s school is having regular indoor lunch in the cafeteria. I’m not comfortable with this due to risk of a Covid infection. What are my options?
Answer: Students who have a medical condition that puts them at higher risk for Covid-19 may qualify for accommodations for Covid safety at school through a 504 plan. This could include added precautions at lunch. This is much like a student with a food allergy who would need extra precautions at lunchtime. Parents may wish to speak with their child’s medical provider, school administrator, parent resource center, or if needed, an advocate or attorney.
